Storage Corner Group Obtains Expansion Approvals

MARCH 2025 -- Storage Corner Group, a Bay Area based regional self-storage investor and operator, recently obtained planning commission approvals for a small expansion (with a conversion component) for Storage Corner Pacifica, an existing self-storage property located at 1221 Palmetto Avenue in Pacifica, California. The property was purchased by an affiliate partnership of Storage Corner Group in mid 2022 and is located in along Palmetto Avenue and Highway 1 in Pacifica. Since acquiring the property, Storage Corner Group executed a value-add business plan which included exterior and interior improvements to upgrade the Property's positioning, proactively address significant maintenance items, and most recently entitled an expansion and small conversion component to maximize usage of the space. At the property we pursued environmentally conscious initiatives, including xeriscaping (or using drought-tolerant, native landscaping), eliminating use of harmful pesticides, rodenticides or herbicides, solar LED lighting, among other initiatives.


The expansion will convert the onsite office spaces and one onsite manager unit into more than 130 additional storage units. And will also construct a new, seven-unit storage building where parking spaces are currently. Overall, this remodel will allow the Property to better serve the moving and storage needs of the Property’s existing customers, as well as the broader local community and businesses in Pacifica.


Storage Corner Group believes this project closely exemplifies its ability to locate self-storage investment projects, execute timely comprehensive business plans to maximize value, drive environmentally conscious initiatives, and efficiently manage operations through its vertically integrated property management platform. Storage Corner Group's in-house team worked collaboratively with local consultants and vendors, as well as the City of Pacifica's planning department to obtain these approvals.
